Haneda ANA lounge
I picked this spoon out of the curry bowl at Haneda airport's ANA lounge. Its smooth with an undeniably luxurious shape and mouth feel. The curry worked as the spoons second half and delivered explosively flavorful bites into my mouth.
The bowls curvature is elite. In fact, I think it looks like some sort of space ship. The stem skinnies up, especially towards the middle, which is not my favorite, but does have a pronounced cap that keeps your grip firm. I am a girth guy for stems, even though it doesn't look quite as nice. If I am really aiming for the last bit of sauce, and am scraping my spoon against the plate, a thin stem is a real dealbreaker since it makes resisting the spoons natural twist much harder. For this spoon it is not bad, and the frighteningly genius bowl design helps mitigate the issue. Gravitate towards this spoon when dealing with thick dishes, especially if you have large chunks of vegetables or meat.
